Sheffield Wednesday have picked up former Burnley midfielder James O'Connor on a three-year deal.
O'Connor's Burnley contract expired at the end of last season and he opted to quit the club after failing to agree terms on a new deal.
A number of clubs were understood to be interested in the 28-year-old, who enjoyed an impressive campaign at Turf Moor.
Sheffield Wednesday have won the chase and O'Connor will officially become Brian Laws' first signing of the summer when the paperwork is completed next week.
Laws said: "I am delighted to have secured the services of James O'Connor.
"He is a proven player at Championship level and brings a wealth of experience to a key area of our team.
"James will bring an excellent work rate, great attitude, and numerous other qualities to our squad."
O'Connor spent three years at Burnley and can also list West Brom and Stoke among his former clubs.
