Wes Hoolahan has joined Norwich from Blackpool with Matthew Gilks moving in the opposite direction.
Hoolahan had attracted the attention of several clubs after an impressive campaign for the Seasiders last term.
Blackpool boss Simon Grayson had hoped to keep Hoolahan at Bloomfield Road but he has now agreed to let him go for an undisclosed fee with Gilks also arriving in exchange.
Goalkeeper Gilks was not given any first-team opportunities at Carrow Road last season and will hope to challenge for a starting spot with Blackpool.
A statement on Blackpool's official website said: "Blackpool FC can confirm that Wes Hoolahan has joined Norwich City for an undisclosed fee with Canaries keeper Matt Gilks going in the opposite direction to join the Seasiders.
"Both deals are subject to the approval of the Football League and the Football Association."
Midfielder Hoolahan has also expressed his delight at joining Norwich and is now looking to win promotion to the Premier League.
He told Norwich's official website: "I had several options but as soon as I met the manager and saw the facilities I knew Norwich were a club that matched my ambitions.
"I want to play Premier League football as soon as possible and I feel that this move will give me that opportunity."
