Aberdeen have offered Chris Maguire a new contract following reports of interest from Coventry City.
Maguire has 12 months left on his current deal at Pittodrie and has been linked with a £300,000 move to the Sky Blues.
The teenage striker scored four goals in 28 SPL appearances and is rated highly by the Aberdeen coaching staff.
Dons director of football Willie Miller confirmed talks are underway regarding a new deal and says Coventry have no chance of signing Maguire for the figures suggested.
Add a few zeros
"We've offered Chris an extension to his current deal as he's out of contract next summer," Miller told the Evening Express.
"I read about Coventry's interest, but I haven't heard anything official about it.
"I would like to think Chris will accept the contract offer and we'll hear back from him when he returns for pre-season training in a few weeks.
"There's no way we want to sell him, and if Coventry are seriously interested then they would need to add a few zeros on to the figure that's been quoted."
