James O'Connor has decided to quit Turf Moor after failing to concur on a fresh deal with Burnley.
The Dublin-born midfielder was offered a new contract by Clarets boss Owen Coyle, but not on the terms he desired.
O'Connor has attracted attention from other clubs and will end a three-year association with Burnley when his contract expires this summer.
"We made James an offer, which was a fair one, but he was waiting to hear back from a couple of other clubs," Coyle told the Lancashire Telegraph.
"I've got no problem with him excercising those rights, but I'm not going to wait about for him to come back later and say he's not going to stay, so I have wished him all the best."
