Hearts midfielder Saulius Mikoliunas believes teenage striker Gary Glen could fire the Jambos back into Europe next season.
Glen has scored two goals in two games after being handed his first two starts for the club against St Mirren and Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
The 18-year-old, who turned down the advances of Manchester United to sign for Hearts, is one of several youngsters to have been blooded by caretaker boss Stevie Frail after the Jambos missed out on a top-half finish this season.
But Mikoliunas reckons they could play a key role for Hearts next season as they aim to bounce back from this season's disappointing campaign.
"Gary has shown in his last two games how good a player he is," he told the Daily Record.
Clever
"He's a very clever player and has all the attributes to be a good striker. Gary is a good young player and has a very big future in the game.
"There is no reason why Gary cannot force his way into the Hearts first team permanently next season.
"Gary and other younger players like Jason Thomson have been introduced to the first team and they are the future of Hearts.
"The minimum goal for us next season has got to be to qualify for Europe."
