Midfielder secures MLS deal after Oakwell exit

Rohan Ricketts has joined Toronto after his Barnsley contract was cancelled by mutual consent. Ricketts made 13 first-team appearances for the Tykes after impressing while on trial at Oakwell last summer but had not featured since the FA Cup fourth round win at Southend in January. The 25-year-old previously enjoyed spells with Arsenal, Tottenham, Coventry and QPR, but has now agreed a deal with the MLS side. Toronto manager Mo Johnston said: "He has come in here and impressed the coaches and by getting him we've instantly added more quality depth for our team. "He possesses a great ability to get by players, and will be another exciting player for our fans to watch."
