Hull City defender Michael Turner is poised to sign a new three-year contract with the promotion hopefuls.
Turner has become a key figure in the Hull side since joining the club in a £350,000 move from Brentford in 2006.
He was linked with SPL champions Celtic earlier this season, but is on the verge of committing his future to the Tigers.
The 24-year-old's current dlea expires next summer, but Hull boss Phil Brown is expecting Turner to sign an extension before the season is over.
"We've been talking to Michael for a while now and he's close to signing a deal with regards to improved terms and committing his long-term future" Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.
"The contract that we've discussed is a three-year deal. I anticipate Michael will sign his new contract before the end of the season and that is great news for everybody.
"That Michael is happy to commit his long-term future is testimony to the football club."
