Sheffield Wednesday striker Marcus Tudgay is set to miss the rest of the season through injury.
Tudgay has been forced to undergo knee surgery and he faces a number of weeks on the sidelines.
It means that Tudgay is unlikely to play again during the current campaign and Owls boss Brian Laws admitted it was a major blow to lose the 25-year-old.
Shame"The surgeon found some cartilage damage in Marcus' knee and although he fixed it, the recovery period means it is unlikely he will play again this season," Laws told the club's official website.
"It is a real shame for us because he has been one of our most consistent performers but I am confident the strikers we have at the club are more than capable of scoring the goals we need to stay in the Championship."
