Striker has full support of Owls manager

Brian Laws has rejected suggestions that he is looking to ship Francis Jeffers out of Sheffield Wednesday. Reports have claimed that Laws is looking to offload the striker due to concerns over the former England international's fitness. Jeffers has made just three appearances for the Championship strugglers since October due to a nagging ankle injury. He was forced out of a recent reserve-team game due to a recurrence of the problem and that has raised questions about his future at Hillsborough. But Owls boss Laws, who brought the 27-year-old to the club from Blackburn Rovers last August, says Jeffers still has a role to play in his squad. "I don't know where that story came from, but it is complete tripe," Laws told the Sheffield Star. "There is no truth in it whatsoever and Francis has my 100% support. We will look at him and see how he goes."
