Colchester boss praises 'fantastic' forward

Colchester manager Geraint Williams says it has been an honour to work with retiring veteran Teddy Sheringham. On Saturday, Sheringham announced that he will draw the curtain on an illustrious career at the end of the season. The 41-year-old joined Championship side Colchester on a free transfer from West Ham last summer, and Williams has hailed his professionalism during his time at Layer Road. "I can't speak highly enough of him," Williams told the Colchester Gazette. "In the dressing room he's been one of the lads. His professionalism is legendary and he's proved that again at Colchester. "Whenever he's gone out on the pitch, he's given us something. "He has a will to win that you can't instil in someone, it's just in there and he's been fantastic for this club."
