Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock has confirmed that negotiations are underway regarding a new deal for Clinton Morrison.
The striker's current contract expires in the summer and Warnock had put all talks on hold to ensure Palace stayed focused on their push for promotion.
However, Warnock has now had a change of heart and is hoping the 28-year-old will agree to stay at Selhurst Park.
"Clinton has worked very hard and he's impressed me," Warnock told the South London Press.
"We're speaking to his people but nothing has been decided yet. I'm hopeful we'll be able to come to an agreement."
Morrison, who has been linked with a move to Reading, is pleased with the developments.
He said: "I'm happy. I can't go anywhere anyway so it doesn't matter.
"We'll wait to the end of the season and see where we are and take it from there."
