Leon Cort has handed Stoke City a major boost after it was revealed the defender did not break his ankle against Preston.
It had been feared the 28-year-old former Crystal Palace man may face a lengthy spell on the sidelines after being stretchered off in Stoke's defeat at Preston on Tuesday.
However, Cort, who thought he could miss the remainder of the season, underwent a scan which revealed only heavy bruising.
"When I landed on it I thought I was out for the season, it hurt that much, but when I went inside the pain eased off," he told the Radio Stoke.
"I'm so relieved and should be okay to play against QPR. I want to be part of this battle to the end of the season."
