Crewe Alexandra have agreed a deal to bring Kenny Lunt back to Gresty Road on loan.

The midfielder quit the League One club for Sheffield Wednesday in the summer of 2006, but has struggled for first-team opportunities this season.

He has made just one appearance for the Owls since September when coming on as a substitute in the FA Cup third-round replay against Derby County.

Lunt has now accepted a one-month loan move back to Crewe, with the deal due to be completed on Tuesday.

During his first spell with the Railwaymen, the 28-year-old made over 400 appearances for the club after coming through the ranks.

First-team coach Steve Holland is likely to include Lunt in his squad for Saturday's game at Leeds United, who were the opponents for his penultimate game for Crewe in his first spell.
