Brian Laws says Sheffield Wednesday defender Frankie Simek is making 'great progress' in his recovery from an ankle injury.
Simek has been sidelined for the last two months after suffering the injury in a 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace.
He had been a regular fixture in the Wednesday side before damaging ankle ligaments, but is now closing on a first-team return.
Though Owls boss Laws is reluctant to set a date for the USA international's comeback, he expressed his delight with Simek's progress.
"We're very pleased with the way Frankie is coming along," said Laws.
"I wouldn't like to put a timescale on when he might be back, but he's making great progress.
"He's got a smile on his face again because he's back on the training ground."
