Burnley are desperately trying to tie down Wade Elliott to a new contract.

The Clarets' current Player of the Year is one of a host of Burnley's first-team squad who is out-of-contract in the summer.

Now Clarets boss Owen Coyle is working hard to try and get one of his prized assets to sign a new deal.

"We have spoken to Wade and his representative and talks are ongoing," said Coyle.

"Ultimately, it's Wade's decision, but we have put an offer to him and we are waiting for him to come back.

Love

"Wade is a player we love at the football club and we want him to stay here.

"He certainly enjoys it and I think you can tell that by the way he plays.

"We give him that license to go and play and I think he has really revelled in how we go about that.

"He will tell you himself that he loves it at the football club and we are doing our best to make sure he stays."
