Jamaican keeper fails to secure work permit

Bradford City goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts' move to Queens Park Rangers has collapsed. Ricketts appeared poised to join the Championship club after a fee was agreed earlier in the week. But the R's have been unable to secure a work permit for the Jamaica international and an appeal has been rejected. The keeper must now return to Valley Parade, where he is under contract until the end of the season. However, he will have a fight on his hands to maintain his starting spot after Bradford signed Scott Loach on loan from Watford as his replacement. Ricketts, who joined the League Two club in 2004, has made 25 appearances for Stuart McCall's side this season.
