Carlisle United have agreed a deal with Scunthorpe United to sign winger Cleveland Taylor.

The clubs have finally agreed a fee of £50,000 to bring the 24-year-old to Brunton Park on a two-and-a-half year contract after several weeks of negotiations.

Taylor, who made 125 appearances for the Iron, was a key member of Scunthorpe's side that clinched promotion to the Championship last season.

Trained

He trained with his new team-mates on Tuesday ahead of their trip to Oldham and was due to watch the match from the stands.

The former Bolton man was also a target of Carlisle's League One rivals Tranmere, who were keen to snap up the winger on loan.

He could make his debut for Carlisle in Saturday's home clash with Walsall.
