Black Cats defender in Hull talks

Sunderland defender Stephen Wright is in talks with Hull over a permanent transfer. Hull are currently on a short break in Dubai but Phil Brown is still working hard to bring in new players before the close of the transfer window. Wright has been told he is free to leave The Stadium of Light and Brown is hopeful that a deal can be pushed through "We are talking with Stephen with regards to a permanent deal," Brown told the Hull Daily Mail. "Unfortunately, we couldn't make it in time for the Colchester game (last Saturday) but we'll get back and sit down with him in the near future. "I would say our chances of bringing in a new player before the Coventry game were quite high. "We were hoping that one or two could have come out with us this week but we will come back on the 24th and look to do some business." Wright has recently returned to Sunderland after spending the first half of the season on loan at Stoke City.
