Bristol City boss Gary Johnson has denied reports that midfield man Marvin Elliott is joining Championship rivals Leicester City.
The 23-year-old is alleged to have attracted interest from a number of clubs, including Premier League pair Portsmouth and Middlesbrough.
Reports at the weekend claimed that the former Millwall man was a target for Ian Holloway's Leicester.
However, Johnson revealed: "That is the first I have heard of it. This is typical of what happens in January and I take it with a pinch of salt.
"It is a compliment to our club and how well we are doing that agents want to link their players with Bristol City. But that is all it is - agent talk.
"I warned people that this would happen and that agents would use the media to try and drum up interest in players.
"It is just something you have to live with in January."
