Rangers make ninth signing of the month

Queens Park Rangers have continued their spending spree by signing Hull defender Damien Delaney. The big-spending Championship outfit have paid an undisclosed fee for Delaney, who has signed a three-and-a-half year deal at Loftus Road. Delaney is Rangers' ninth signing of the transfer window and the 26-year-old is looking forward to the challenge ahead.

Challenge

"It's a massive challenge for me personally. The squad is very strong in every department and the initial task for me is to play my way into the manager's thoughts," Delaney told the club's official website. "I met the chairman Gianni Paladini and he sold the club to me in an instant. He spoke in glowing terms about the new owners and what they want to achieve and from that moment on, there was never any doubt in my mind that this was the club for me. "I've experienced something similar, albeit on a smaller scale, in the past, when Hull came into some serious investment and made their way up through the divisions and that should stand me in good stead."
