Stoke City have finalised the £500,000 capture of Danny Pugh from Preston North End.
The former Leeds United man initially joined The Potters on loan, but impressed sufficiently to merit a permanent transfer.
Pugh, who has now made 14 Championship starts for Stoke, has penned a three-and-a-half deal with the Britannia outfit.
"This was a transfer that was agreed by Paul Simpson and it was always the case that once Danny's loan period was up then the deal would be made permanent," Preston chairman Derek Shaw told the club's official website.
"In total we will receive £500,000 for Danny but a percentage of that will go to Leeds United."
