Hull goalkeeper Matt Duke has undergone surgery to remove a testicular tumour and is now awaiting test results.
The shot-stopper has been missing from Hull's squad for their last two games, against Plymouth in the FA Cup and West Brom in the Championship on Saturday.
And the Tigers chairman Paul Duffen has now confirmed that Duke, who agreed a new three-year contract at KC Stadium in September, underwent surgery at the beginning of January.
"On Saturday 5th January Matt underwent surgery to remove a testicular tumour that he had recently discovered," Duffen told Hull's official website.
"He has since been recovering at home and is awaiting test results this week."
