Colchester United boss Geraint Williams has quashed rumours linking captain Karl Duguid with a move away from the South East club.
The 29-year-old utility-man has been at Layer Road for 13 years - but reports of a move away from the club were fuelled when he was left out of the U's squad which travelled to Bristol City on Saturday.
However, Williams said: "I just feel he has been out of sorts lately - and I need to give him a break.
"He is a senior lad and seeing as he was not involved, we said that he didn't have to travel, and instead give him a rest. Hopefully he will come back refreshed."
