Colchester United have agreed a deal with Walsall for in-demand defender Daniel Fox.
The 21-year-old is also a target for Leeds United, but Colchester now appear to be in pole-position to secure his signature after concluding talks with The Saddlers.
The former Everton youngster is now due to hold talks with Colchester.
"To confirm reports elsewhere, we have had a firm bid accepted by Walsall for Daniel Fox," said Colchester chief executive Marie Partner.
"Further discussions will now take place after official permission by Walsall was given to talk to the player."
Colchester have been splashing the cash in recent days having already signed defenders Chris Coyne and Phil Ifill.
