Taylor a target for League One duo

Carlisle United and Tranmere Rovers are trying to sign Scunthorpe United winger Cleveland Taylor. Scunthorpe have received a £75,000 offer from Carlisle for Taylor, while Tranmere want to sign the 24-year-old on loan. Iron boss Nigel Adkins is considering the bids, while Carlisle chief John Ward is optimistic of pushing through a deal. "We have made an offer as he is a player that we have been watching, and we feel that he can add something to our squad," Ward told the club's official website. "We'll monitor the situation over the next few days to see if we can progress." Meanwhile, Ward has also handed a trial to midfielder Roy Sandeman, who was previously on the books of Cowdenbeath. Sandeman featured for the reserves against Wrexham this week and has been invited back to play for the second string against Chester City next week. Ward has also given Darren Campion a two-month contract extension, and handed keeper Grant Carson a deal until the end of the season.
