Taylor: In demand
Ronnie Moore is hoping that Andy Taylor will choose to become a permanent member of Tranmere's squad.
The full-back arrived at Prenton Park on-loan from Blackburn in November but had to be withdrawn from the squad for the 3-0 defeat to Leyton Orient on Tuesday after attracting interest from another club.
Championship side Blackpool are believed to be the club in contention for the defender's services, and although Tranmere have moved quickly to match the offer, Moore admits that they are unsure as to what Taylor will decide to do.
"Andy was pulled out when another club put in an offer and we matched that offer," the Rovers boss told the Liverpool Echo.
"Now we are waiting for Andy to make a decision and hopefully he will want to stay here and play for us.
"I do believe he could be another Ryan Taylor (Wigan's former Tranmere full-back) in the making and the big thing is we have pitched in to try and keep him."
Moore was also disappointed by the sending off of Shane Sherriff during the defeat to Orient and admitted that the player will now be disciplined by the club.
"Shane had one booking to his name and we told him at half-time to be careful and disciplined," he said.
"Within five minutes he made an unnecessary challenge. He will be fined for that."
