Northampton Town are braced for Bradley Johnson's exit, with three Championship clubs chasing the midfielder.
Johnson was left out of the Northampton squad for the New Year's Day game with Millwall after the League One club received a 'substantial' offer.
Coventry City have been linked with the 20-year-old, although Cobblers boss Stuart Gray did not disclose the identity of the bidding club.
However, Gray conceded that Johnson is likely to be on his way before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
"The club received a substantial offer for Bradley Johnson from a Championship club and everyone agreed it was best for the player to sit out the game," he said.
"But three Championship clubs are after him. We can't stop him talking to those clubs.
"It will be his decision, but if it does go through we wish him well."
