Burnley boss Owen Coyle has played down speculation linking the club with Scottish duo Barry Robson and Derek Riordan.
Dundee United midfielder Robson and Celtic attacker Riordan are both rumoured to be targets for the new Clarets boss.
Coyle worked with the two players at Tannadice, but insists he has not made any attempt to set up a January deal.
"Particularly in Scotland there's been speculation and, to be fair, they are players I've worked with as a coach with Dundee United," Coyle told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
"But I have not spoken to any other manager or representative.
"Yes, as a staff, we have [talked about players], but I certainly haven't made any inroads into pursuing anybody and that's where we are."
Robson was linked with a £750,000 switch to Turf Moor, while Riordan has struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular at Celtic.
