Wycombe Wanderers have cut short Plymouth Argyle striker Reuben Reid's loan spell at the club.

Wycombe Wanderers have cut short Plymouth Argyle striker Reuben Reid's loan spell at the club.

Reid joined the League Two side in August and was due to stay with Paul Lambert's side until the New Year.

But, after starting just one league game, Wycombe have sent the teenager back to Home Park.

Head coach Ian Culverhouse told the club's official website: "It didn't work out for Reuben so we thought it would be best for him to go back.

"He would have returned to Plymouth in January anyway and it's unfortunate that things didn't quite go as we hoped.

"It leaves us short of strikers, but we're working hard to sign one when the transfer window opens."
