Peter Ridsdale says Steven Thompson's recent outburst will not signal the end of the striker's Cardiff City career.
Thompson revealed in an interview that he rarely spoke to Dave Jones and did not see eye-to-eye with the Cardiff boss.
The Scotland international is expected to be called into a meeting with Jones, and chairman Ridsdale, as a result of his comments.
But Ridsdale has confirmed that Thompson will not be booted out of the club as punishment for his criticism.
"We have seen the comments and myself and Dave will meet to see if any action should be taken, but that will all be done internally," Ridsdale told the Western Mail.
"But it will not be the case that Steve Thompson will be leaving the club over those comments."
Thompson is on the transfer list at Ninian Park, but has impressed in recent weeks and is keen to stay with the Championship club.
