Crystal Palace have extended the loan deal of Franck Songo'o until 1st January.

The French winger is currently on loan with Palace from Portsmouth as he attempts to build first-team experience.

Songo'o had not featured for Palace since being substituted in his fourth game with the club against Queens Park Rangers in November as he failed to make an impact.

However, Songo'o impressed on his return to the side in Saturday's 1-1 draw with West Brom and manager Neil Warnock has performed a U-turn and extended the 20-year-old's stay at Selhurst Park.

Reprieve

"We've extended his loan," Warnock told Palace's official website.

"He's had a reprieve. We had a chat last week and I watched him in the reserves against Southampton and he did very well.

"He didn't know he was playing until 1.30pm on Saturday because my team was picked and he wasn't in it.

"It's not often that I change my mind overnight but he's done very well for me."
