Leeds midfielder returns to Eagles on loan

Leeds United midfielder Shaun Derry has returned to Crystal Palace on loan until January. Derry, who is yet to feature for Leeds this term due to injury, only recently made his return for the reserves. With Derry well down Leeds' pecking order, manager Dennis Wise has allowed the midfielder to depart in order to boost his match fitness. The 29-year-old signed for Leeds in 2005 having made 83 appearances for Palace during his two-and-a-half-year stint at Selhurst Park. With Palace down in 23rd place in the Championship, Derry's arrivals comes as a welcome boost to manager Neil Warnock - who is winless in his first six games at the club.

Focus

Meanwhile, Leeds boss Dennis Wise has urged Swindon boss Paul Sturrock to focus on his team rather than the transfer embargo placed on his club. Sturrock is frustrated at having his hands tied after seeing his side pick up just one point in their last four games following defeat at Leeds. "Please stop crying, Paul," said Wise. "We have been in the same situation ourselves. It's just how you deal with it that counts. "He just has to get on with it. He has some decent players who caused us problems and I am sure they will do well in this league." Wise is keen to extend Radostin Kishishev's loan switch from Leicester, with his one-month stay nearly concluded. "Radostin is important to us and I need to have a chat with him because his loan is nearly up," he continued. "So I need to see what his thoughts are and I will be getting that done as soon as possible."
