Preston winger Danny Pugh has joined Stoke on loan until January.
The Potters enquired about Pugh's services last week but Paul Simpson insisted the left-sided player was still part of his plans.
However, Simpson, who has not played Pugh since the 2-1 defeat to Ipswich on 6th October, has now had a change of heart.
Pugh will link up with Stoke for the next two months, with a view to a permanent transfer in the New Year.
"Danny is a left-sided player who we have been chasing since the beginning of the season," Stoke boss Tony Pulis told the club's official website.
"He is young enough to improve with the team and he is capable of scoring goals.
"I am absolutely delighted to have signed a quality player."
