Wolves starlet joins League One club after trial

Elliott Bennett has joined Crewe on a month's loan from Wolves following a successful trial spell. The 18-year-old wide man arrives at Gresty Road after being recommended to the club after they initially went in for his Molineux team-mate Lewis Gobern. Bennett goes straight into Crewe's squad for their game at Cheltenham on Saturday and first-team coach Steve Holland is tipping him to shine.

Pacy winger

"He is a young lad, but is a pacey winger, who likes to take on defenders and get crosses into the box," he told the club's official website. "From Elliott's point of view he has nothing to lose. He will get some first-team games and it will be a good experience for him. "When you take a player on loan it is difficult not to play them in the team and if he wasn't going to play then he would argue he would be better off in the reserves at Wolves."
