Mali duo Fredi Kanoute and Mamady Sidibe were injured during crowd disturbances after the clash with Togo, according to L'Equipe.

Sevilla's former Spurs and West Ham striker Kanoute and Stoke forward Sidibe required medical treatment after Togo fans attacked Mali supporters and players.

Mali had won the African Nations Cup match 2-0 in Lome when the incidents occurred.

Mali coach Jean-Francois Jodar told L'Equipe: "Mamady Sidibe took a blow, doubtless with a weapon, which caused bruising to his arm.

"Frederic Kanoute was hit with a belt.

"It was like a battlefield. There was blood everywhere in the dressing room."
