Hartlepool have bolstered their defensive options with the signing of Danny Coles on a month's loan from Hull.
The versatile Coles, who can play in central defence or in either full-back position goes straight into the squad for Tuesday's home clash with Carlisle.
The 26-year-old moved to Hull from Bristol City where he played under Victoria Park boss Danny Wilson.
Wilson told Hartlepool's official website: "Danny is a player I know very well from Bristol.
"He is a very versatile player and can play anywhere along the back four so he will be adding some competition in that area.
"Danny has come here looking for a fresh challenge and while it's only for a month initially we hope he enjoys his time with us and we can be successful."
Meanwhile, midfielder Lee Bullock is hoping to force his way into Wilson's plans after returning to Hartlepool from Mansfield at the end of his one-month loan spell.
Stags boss Billy Dearden told the Mansfield Chad: "Lee says he wants to go back to Hartlepool and fight for his place there.
"It is the player's decision. I don't know if our current situation here has a bearing on it but I did everything I could to keep him here."
