West Brom midfielder set for loan

Huddersfield Town have agreed a deal with West Bromwich Albion for Ronnie Wallwork. The 30-year-old midfielder is expected in West Yorkshire on Thursday to put pen-to-paper on a month-long loan deal. Terriers boss Andy Ritchie hopes to have Wallwork's signature in place in order for him to be eligible for Saturday's clash with Luton.

"As far as we know the deal has been done," said Ritchie. "I felt that we needed someone in midfield with experience that could hit balls around. I see him as a steadying influence who can sit there and pull people around in a midfield role. "He can play in defence, but like I've said before, we are looking at people who can do two or three jobs. "Also, we've had a lot of illness as well this week, particularly Andy Holdsworth and Michael Collins, and I felt that it was time to try and bring someone in. "With Frank (Sinclair) coming back at the weekend and then Danny (Cadamarteri) up front giving us a different dimension, I thought we needed some guile and experience in midfield. "He's here initially for a month and we will just see how it goes from there and how Ronnie likes it. The club have been great and they've backed me fully on it."
