Preston midfielder Chris Sedgwick has signed a new deal at Deepdale.

The former Rotherham star has agreed a two-year contract extension to keep him at Preston until 2010.

Sedgwick was delighted to pledge his long-term future to the club.

Talking

"We've been talking about it for a few weeks now so I am glad it is done and dusted and I'm delighted to be signing and staying here for another three years," Sedgwick told the club's official website.

"The manager has been getting a lot of the players tied up over the past couple of months so I was pleased when he pulled me in and offered me one and I'm pleased that I am a part of his plans."
