Ipswich manager Jim Magilton is considering sending Dean Bowditch out on loan.
The striker is working his way back to full fitness following groin surgery and scored a hat-trick as Ipswich reserves defeated Southend on Monday.
Magilton is now keen for the Bowditch to gain first-team experience following his injury nightmare.
"Our best-laid plans for Dean went out of the window last season, what with his injury problems," Magilton told Ipswich's official website.
"We were keen to get him out on loan, score some goals, play regular first-team football and get his confidence up.
"It is important he is playing games every week and if we cannot give him games at the level we want then he will go out on loan.
"He is a player we have always liked and it is great to see him back playing football again and we will see how things go from here."
