Hull boss keen to keep players

Phil Brown has rubbished speculation that players on the fringe of the Hull City squad are set to leave the club. Forwards Stephen McPhee and Michael Bridges are both finding first-team opportunities hard to come by and are said to be attracting the interest of other clubs. However, Brown has ruled out the possibility of any members of his squad moving towards the exit ahead of Hull's meeting with Chelsea in the Carling Cup on 26th September. "There's a lot of interest in our players, but nobody is going anywhere unless it's right for us. It's as simple as that," Brown told the Hull Daily Mail. "I've had enquiries all week about players. Players like Stephen McPhee and Michael Bridges haven't been in the team. If they want to stay and possibly play against Chelsea, that's their call. "That goes for anybody at the football club. I'm building a squad and they have to understand that."
