Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Rob Edwards faces up to six weeks on the sidelines.

Wolves defender ruled out

Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Rob Edwards has suffered medial knee ligament damage and will be out for up to six weeks. The former Aston Villa trainee was injured late in the first half of a Wolves friendly game at Walsall during a challenge by Troy Deeney. Wolves manager Mick McCarthy said: "Rob has damaged his medial ligament which normally means four to six weeks in recovery. "It's a disappointment for him but he will work hard to get back." Edwards has struggled to break in to the first team at Molineux this campaign, making only one appearance in the Championship so far. The injury is along the same lines to that which has ruled out keeper Matt Murray for up to seven months.
