Real Madrid's new goalkeeper, Jerzy Dudek told Revista de la Liga that he had to leave Liverpool as he was just not happy with life on the bench. Dudek moved to Real Madrid on a free transfer in the summer after six seasons at Anfield having endured a frustrating last couple of years. So how does the Poland international's new team compare to Liverpool? "It is very difficult to compare Liverpool with Real Madrid," said Dudek. "Liverpool was a very strong, physical team with good organisation and here - and also in the whole of Spain - you see that everything is about the individual skills of the players. This is very different [from England]. "Sevilla play much more like English football - very strong and well organised. But here you see the players on the pitch and it's unbelievable - they're so good with the ball. Technically the one-touch football is amazing but there is a bit too much freedom on the pitch sometimes. Everyone wants to attack." After performing heroics in the 2005 Champions League Final win over Milan Dudek made only 12 appearances over the next two seasons following the Reds' signing of Jose Reina. "It was difficult in my position to sit on the bench after winning the Champions League Final," continued Dudek. "After five years I had to look for something different to motivate myself again because last year I was not happy with myself. "I was a little bit down, mentally. I had to change and when I came here, straight away I was feeling sharper and much more aggressive. I want it." But Dudek will have his work cut out to over take Iker Casillas as Real's number one. "I want to play as many games as I can and of course everybody knows the position of Iker [Casillas] here, but I'm going to be very competitive and if I get some chances to play I will be happy. "If you're not playing week-in-week-out you have to be very focussed, strong and aggressive because you don't know when your time will come. I will have to be ready and hope my chance arrives soon."
