Youssef Safri could have played his last game for Norwich after feeling the wrath of manager Peter Grant.
The midfielder failed to show for the club's pre-season photo-shoot on Monday and was fined a week's wages by Grant.
Grant has strongly hit out at Safri and warned the Moroccan that he may no longer be in his first-team plans.
Asked if Safri would play for Norwich again, the Canaries boss told The Pink'un: "Hopefully not.
"Saff phoned us (Monday) morning and said he was picking up an agent.
"Unfortunately he forgets he has training in the morning. He knew it was the picture in the afternoon, and I don't go chasing players.
"When players turn up late, game over. Saff has been fined and dealt with."
Safri is a reported target for Southampton, but Grant insists the former Coventry man will not be leaving on the cheap.
"Maybe he thinks he can get away for nothing," he said. "I have dealt with about 15 agents, that is the problem.
"I have not had an offer, people keep telling me they are interested but I have not had an offer and if he thinks he is going to work his ticket to get out here for nothing, sorry."
