Ben Watson admits he jumped at the chance to join Watford's promotion push.
The midfielder left Wigan after six years when the clubs agreed an undisclosed fee last week.
He told Hornets Player: "I'm delighted. It was something that came around really quickly but I jumped at the opportunity.
"It was something I didn't really expect to be honest, but once I found out about the opportunity here it was something that I really wanted to do.
"I've watched Watford over the years and especially over the last few years they've had a style of play that I think will suit my game, and they're a team that's always in and around the top six.
"It's the same again this season, they're a team that have a fantastic opportunity to get promoted. You can see the quality they've got here and hopefully I can bring that little bit of experience as well.
"With the squad of players we've got here I don't see why something special can't happen."
