Watford defender Gabriel Tamas is set to miss the majority of the season after suffering a cruciate injury.
The 30-year-old Romanian was stretchered off during the first half of last Saturday's 1-1 draw against Bournemouth.
The Hornets confirmed on Thursday that Tamas had ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and faces "a number of months" on the sidelines.
Tamas moved to Vicarage Road in the summer after leaving relegated Doncaster and has made nine appearances this term.
