Watford skipper Troy Deeney faces a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
The striker, who recently signed a new four-year deal at Vicarage Road, suffered the problem during Tuesday night's 1-0 win at Blackpool.
Watford say the injury is still being assessed by the club's medical staff, but that the 26-year-old will be out for "a matter of weeks".
The news comes as a huge blow to the Hornets, currently in third place in the Championship.
Deeney has scored three goals so far this season and has hit 63 in 141 starts since joining the club in 2010.
