Gianfranco Zola was delighted after Watford kept alive their hopes of pipping Hull City to the second automatic promotion spot with a 4-0 win over Blackburn.
Relegation-threatened Rovers had no answer to second-half strikes from Troy Deeney (2), Almen Abdi and Matthew Briggs.
The result confirmed a play-off place for the home side, and Zola said: "I was expecting something like this and delighted that it came today at the right manner and in the right way.
"What can I say, everything went perfect - a lot of goals, good performance, a good quality of football and a big crowd and a Sardinian day out there. It's been an ideal Saturday afternoon."
Zola was keen to single out Fernando Forestieri, who provided three assists, adding: "He didn't score but it doesn't matter. But I know Fernando. Fernando can give a big contribution to his team and today he was superb.
"But there were a few others who were superb today. Troy (Deeney) was fantastic with his finishing and also some performances at the back.
"Cassetti was outstanding, really outstanding and the two wide players, Ikechi (Anya) and Daniel Pudil played well and also (Nathaniel) Chalobah was back to his best.
"So when you have all these performances on the pitch then of course the result is more likely to be on your side.
"It is a crazy Championship, it is unbelievable at the top and at the bottom and I think it is going to be like this until the end. I'm expecting changes in the situation until the end."
