Midfielder close to agreeing fresh three-year contract with Watford

Skysports.com understands Watford are in talks with midfielder Ross Jenkins regarding a new contract at Vicarage Road. Jenkins has come through the ranks at Watford and made his debut for the club in a Carling Cup tie against Bristol Rovers in August 2008. He has made over 80 first-team appearances during his burgeoning career and has featured 19 times in the Championship for the Hornets this season. The 20-year-old is viewed as a key part of manager Malky Mackay's plans for the future and Watford are keen to secure Jenkins on a new deal. It is understood that the offer of a three-year contract is on the table and that Jenkins is close to agreeing terms with the Hornets.
