Defender Ekstrand makes move from Helsingborgs

Udinese have completed the signing of Joel Ekstrand from Helsingborgs on a four-and-a-half-year deal. The 21-year-old Swede, who has already been capped at senior international level, joins Francesco Guidolin's side for an undisclosed fee. He has been in fine form for homeland club Helsingborgs over the past couple of seasons and Udinese are hopeful he will be a success in Serie A. Udinese president Franco Soldati told the club's official website: "He's a player we have followed for a long time and we wanted strongly. "We wish him a good future and a quick call into the coach's plans." The centre-back also expressed his delight at the deal, saying: "It feels sad to leave the club that I love, but incredibly inspiring to get the chance to play in one of Europe's best leagues."
