Midfielder keeping an open mind after joining Stevenage on loan

Josh Walker is looking forward to the opportunity to play first-team football after an impressive debut for Stevenage Borough. The midfielder joined Stevenage on loan from Watford last week and scored the opening goal in the 2-0 FA Cup second round win at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday. Walker had been restricted to just four substitute appearances for Watford since his August arrival from Middlesbrough and is unhappy with his lack of playing time at Vicarage Road. The 21-year-old has quickly settled into the setup at Stevenage and is keeping an open mind about extending his time at the League Two club.

Different class

"I've only been here for a couple of days but it feels like I've been here all season," said Walker in The Sun. "The lads are different class and the camaraderie is brilliant. "If I'm honest, I feel like I should have played more than I have for Watford. "But I just want to enjoy my football for now and see what happens when my loan runs out in January. "Whether I stay here or go back to Watford, I just want to be playing at as high a level as I can."
